NO borla on SE 4x4?

Well, just got the call that my truck has come in, 05 Sport Edition V8 4x4 in Titanium! WEE! BUT, I was quickly thereafter informed that they "CANNOT' put the borla onto the SE 4x4's, and I was like WTF ive never heard of that........kind of bummed, but Just wanted to run this B.S. by you more knowledgable folks to see if this is indeed true. Im gonna pick her up early this afternoon!

On a + note, they will be lowering the price accordingly, therefore leaving that $ in my acct allowing me to buy the exhaust (if compatible) for cheaper! and install myself.


I AM SO STOKED! first new vehicle in 5 years!
 
have you considered buying a borla muffler and having a exhaust shop fab up a custom system? I think I will consider that for my V-6 sport. I havent found any aftermarket systems for the v6. Most of my exhausts have been custom, and its kinda fun to have something unique. I have found also its usually not as pricey as I thought to go custom.
just a thought....

Sounds like BS to me. I mean i have an '03 Sport 4x4 and installed the Borla myself with no problems, i dont see where changes could have occured that would cause it not to work.
 
I bought my '03 SE with the Borla installed by the port. The part number is DE 10.

It was listed on my official Toyota window sticker.

Ohwell, Ill just save myself a few pennies and either buy elsewhere!
Its funny how dealers think that you, as a customer, dont now jack about this vehicle, eventhough its obviously a highly researched thing. This is the same dealer who persisted that no 20" enkei wheel existed for the 4R, yeah sure....


Ohwell, im still happy as lark. cant wait to pick er up!
 
could it be that since the engine change, that Borla may have not made one for the new V8? That is the BS I was fed....... either way, I LOVE MY NEW 4R!
 
Has anyone run one on a dyno to see if they add any power? I know some want a better sound, but I would like to see some dyno numbers.

It should fit on the new V8, unless they changed the exhaust plumbing somewhere. Just a guess though...
 
I HOPE that is the case, because if its not, and the salesman was just dickin me around then Im gonna be pissed! I wonder where we could find such info?? Anyone have an 03/4 and an 05 together and want to take a look?

I should have quoted Duc Hunter. He said there was no Borlas for a '04 Limited. I don't think they list it on their site, but they fit fine on my '04. '05 might be a different story, but I couldn't imagine them having to change anything cat back.

Again, has anyone dyno'd this? I cannot find dyno nubers on Borla's site.

hey bool i see you're from aurora. the IL members were planning to meet last fall but it didn't work out. :( Anyways, i'm interested in hearing your exhaust, but i don't have AIM. Maybe we can meet soemtime and i can hear it for real. :)
