Well I'd start by looking at the backside of each wheel to make sure that you don't have any leaks. Do you have puddles in the driveway?

If all the wheels are dry and there's no obvious leaks in any of the brakelines I'd say the master cylinder is the next thing to look at. If the seal on the firewall end of the master cylinder has failed the carpet near the top of the brake pedal will probably be wet. The other possibility makes an assumption; a 1990 T4R uses a vacuum brake booster. If it is a vacuum brake booster and the master cylinder seal has failed it's possible the engine is sucking the fluid out through the booster. If that's the case I'd expect the booster to be failing soon as well. A failed booster means you can still stop just extra pedal effort is required. IMHO a junk yard booster is ok, I'd get a new or rebuilt master cylinder rather than a junk yard master cylinder. Check prices here too: http://www.rockauto.com/
