People on T4R aren't very active offroaders. You might want to check out some other forums. There's usually someone organising a wheeling trip each month around SoCal.

Cheers
Mark

yotatech.com is a good one. I lurk there but for some reason have never registered.

There seems to be more focus on the 4th gens here so that is why I stick around. Also this is my primary and only vehicle so I'm not looking to do any heavy offroading.

You might also try Toyota120.com for meetups and great technical info.

How about a parking lot meet at Irvine spectrum? That's a great spot!

Id be down for a Irvine Parking lot meet-up. I dont have much to show off, but would be fun. Then maybe once we are there, we could plan an off-road event for the furture. (hence) my Saddleback day trip that no one showed up to!!!!!

4x4ing near Santiago

The Santiago road is only open part of the year so we should plan another outing. I used to spend a lot of time at all of the radio sites up there in my Bronco and I've mountain biked up there too.

My favorite is the old Cold War era radar site that the Air Force built. From the Maple Springs Main Divide junction you can just see the silver crescent shape of the water reservoir built into the hill and the fiberglass pump house. Both are nestled into the hillside. You can only drive to the lower gate of that site and then it is an uphill hike. Not too much left up there besides some radio repeater buildings.

Not far past there is the big shiny "golf ball" of the weather radar and just past that is old Beek's ranch. You can head all the way out to Sierra Peak but I don't know if the gate down to Corona is open.

I'll be doing some travelling in the near future but it would be great to take advantage of the open Silverado gate while it lasts!

Another place to consider is where the MDTT hits Hi 74, you can drive a paved road towards Elsinore peak and then explore a whole bunch of fire roads out there. No seasonal closings that i know of.

i down to meet up but i got a damn 4x2 so im kinda limited as to what i can do. but you can bet ill push it if someone has a tow strap. =)

Can we get this topic a sticky?

President's day is coming up and maybe we can throw a meet on Sunday since MOST people are off Monday. COME ON SO CAL 4RUNNER OWNERS! LETS GET IT STARTED IN HERE!

Sweet guys, glad more people are interested. Most of these roads are 2wd cabaple. It just helps to have 4low for the steeps.
