No headlight reminder?

I’m still getting use to my 4Runner but I noticed last night when I left the lights on and turned the vehicle off and got out leaving headlights on there was no warning chime or buzzer. Is this true for everyone and if so is there a mod for this? I’m use to auto headlights so I can see myself leaving the lights on for sure!

My '04 turns the lights off for you if you forget, but also has no reminder/buzzer. I left the lights on for an entire day at the beach the other weekend and was pleasantly surprised to find the battery wasn't dead. The other night, we realized the lights turn themselves off. We keep thinking we've found the last nifty trick and then we turn around a few days later and realize something else.

If you use the clicker, press the lock button twice back to back and it'll shut them off. Once you get in the habit of pressing twice, there's no worries.

You can treat your 4Runner headlights sorta like auto headlights. They shut off automatically after a pre-set time. I don't remember off hand how long they stay on, but it's not very long.

The same is true of your parking lights. You can keep them on all the time if you want. As soon as you shut off the ignition and open the door, they'll turn off.

IIRC, that shut off time is 60sec.

I seem to recall that the lights shut off if the vehicle is shut off and locked in 60 seconds and if you leave the driver's door open with them on it's longer (something like 30 minutes). Someone correct me of I'm wrong, i don't feel like going to my truck to check the manual right now. Also, the double click thing is true.
