No leaks, but I smell oil??

I've noticed this the last month or so. Stop to see a customer and I can smell oil. Had the truck on a lift and went over everything and I don't see a drop anywhere. Oil change to oil change there is no loss, but the smell is there.

Any thoughts???

Yeah Ive heard if you don't shower you start to smell like that!

Had the exact same thing on my 3rd gen , it was the valve cover bolts being loose. It was seeping just enough to create that slight oil smell yet wasnt bad enough to show any leaks under the truck . Tightened and problem solved. Now I check them every time I change the oil .

yeah.. oil can leak from the valve cover and burn up before it hits the floor. open the hood and have a look.

it could just be loose bolts, or it could be a craced gasket that needs replacing... good luck!
