No power untill 3100 rpm

Hi Gang, Its a 93 model with the 3.0 and i just replaced the knock sensor. Lacks power on the bottom end and when going uphill is weak untill 3100 rpm then comes to life and will jump out from under you. Don't know where to start trouble shooting the problem and any help would be appreciated.

When mine did that it was the TPS. But a bad signal from the knock sensor will retard timing and make it act gutless too - I don't know if that goes away at a certain RPM though.

Any engine codes?

I haven't checked the codes yet. Bought the car with the previous owner telling me the code was for the knock sensor. replaced it and made sure there was continuity on the wires. Will check the codes tonight. Thanks for replying.

Checked codes this morning and the only code being shown was the #52 knock sensor code. Was wondering if I got a bad new sensor or if its a bad connection in the harness assembly. will not be able to do anything to it untill the weekend.

The harness for the knock sensor is known to age and crack due to heat. I would look at that before thinking the replacement sensor was bad.

might also be worth double checking the vac lines
had all sorts of problems with RPM and power till that was sorted....
could be way off just my 2 cents

Thanks for the suggestions. I will be able to work on it today and will double check the vacuum lines and test continuity from the intake plug to the ecm. I appreciate the help.
