No shift indicator lights??

Just bought this 2012 TE and the console is dark at night. Only light is the small led from the roof shining down. Shouldn't the PRND by the shifter light up?

On previous vehicles even, the dashboard blacking out would be an indicator that you might have a light out. Or check the dinner dial in the dash

I can diagnose if you guys tell me they do light up on your 2012 lol Thanks

Who looks down when they shift into gear?
I do. AND I use both hands[emoji2958]

Don't need them lit, but alternatively can't recall ever seeing a floor/console shifter that's not lit to include the 4th Gen.

Thanks

i don't recall ever looking down to see where i have shifted... it's all feel and go. four clicks down, you are in drive.. four click up and to the left, you are in park. two click up from D and you are in R.

Thanks all. I'm aware of the alternative location, and that "most" probably all manuals dont have lights as there is nothing to light up.

Not to give you too much shit. But this is what I have in my head now.

4R trying to back up out of parking stall. Goes straight back without turning wheels. Turns wheel slightly when they almost hit the car behind them.....Looks down at shifter. Shifts to D. Moves forward 2 feet without turning wheels. Looks down to shift to R. ... Repeats process about 10 times.

Finally gets out of stall. Just amusing my self for this lunch break.
