No Sound from Speakers

I have a 2004 4runner without JBL. I upgraded the speakers and installed a Scion Head Unit. Recently the sound quit working. The stereo works fine but nothing comes out of speakers. The local dealer spent two days but can't figure it out. The dealer wants me to buy all original equipment for big bucks so they can start troubleshooting again. No way, they took a head unit from a runner off the lot and it still didn't work. I'm trying to find out if there is a common ground for the speakers. Any ideas??

do you have an external amp?.. hard to beleave that the dealer had it for two days with no answer.

I don't have an external amp. I had the basic sound system and changed to the Scion head unit and I have Focal speakers. Everything has worked for years but then it was going in and out and the it just went out.

check all of your grounds, or maybe a wire came loose and disconnected.
