No Spark to Ignition Coil 3.4

Alrighty, I hope this isn't too long winded...
In February, I took my truck out wheeling and it died mid trip. Ended up being a failed Ignition coil (cylinder 1) It was completely cracked thru

It was a Sunday, Oreilly's was the only place nearby and open, so I purchased a replacement for $120 bucks.

Yesterday I was driving home, I made a quick left, and then a right and felt the truck sputter and lose power. Sounded and felt identical to when the coil failed.

So I pull over, and the battery is shifted near the intake manifold and alternator. The damn factory battery tray and mount won't tighten to an ideal amount. I will have this addressed with a box ASAP now that I've seen the movement and how easy it happens.

I push the battery back on to the tray, check my coils, everything is A-Okay, full power, idles fine, etc. and continue my way home.

I drive roughly 25 more miles on city and highway roads until it dies again. This time there is no relief.
i just happened to pull into another Oreilly's as the truck coasts into the lot.

i ask them to pull a code, and there is zero codes showing. Start checking the first coil pack again, and its got no spark. It too is cracked, this time possibly only the casing and not all of the way thru, unable to verify
they warrantee out the old one I bought for free.
I install the new pack, and no dice...still no spark.

I go home, pull a spare coil pack off of my other truck as it is OEM toyota and also known good condition (in case the replacement the gave me was a dud) I also checked the plugs and changed them just in case. As I'm putting in the Toyota Coil Pack I pull out the replacement that I had just installed last night, and it too is now cracked as well....
I understand excessive engine and ambient heat under the hood can cause the cases to crack...but the truck wouldn't even idle, let alone drive anywhere so I couldn't even get to operating temperature. I can get it to run in park with some persuasion...at least to check for spark and power...but cannot put it in gear or move under its own power. At this point is sounds like a 4cyl diesel and can simply smell the excess unburnt fuel from being down 1-2 cylinders.

I checked the related fuses to ensure they were not the cause, checked the other coils for spark and everything else looks peachy.
this is about the end of what I can figure on my own to troubleshoot.

Any help, guidance, suggestions would be great...I searched for hours on T4R, TW, TTORA, Pirate and couldn't find a case of the same problem.

Here's a pic of the coil for reference

Bad spark plug, igniter, ecu or wiring harness. Those would be the likely suspects in my mind. You may have a few failed items, I just repaired a Lincoln Zephyr...The coil pack went bad. Replaced it, next one went bad too. Deeper checks revealed that the spark plugs, coil packs and ecu were all related to the problem. Had to replace them all at once, or the coils kept splitting open like that. Test the ecu, igniter and wiring harness before you install another coil pack

No Spark

Hey guys, I’ve been scrolling through old threads looking for some sort of insight into this crazy problem in having.

I have a 1996 v6 4x4 Limited and after a throttle body cleaning and spark plug change I am no longer able to start the car.

Here’s how it all started...

I got the bright idea to give my throttle body a good cleaning. I removed everything and the cleaning went great. I had a nice clean throttle body ready to go and I thought to myself.. “let’s change the spark plugs and wires!”

Got the car all out back together and now it won’t start.. i know I am getting fuel because after a few tries at starting I can smell the gas... I checked all my wires and still nothing...

I’m at a loss for words because I’ve never had an issue like this for something this simple..

Any insight would help a ton.. I’ve researched for two weeks and can’t get my baby back on the road..

First thing, check the wire routing AGAIN. You'd be amazed how many people THINK they have it right. Use this:

Next, check all connections, electricl and vacuum. Did you retighten the bolt on the engine ground by the diagnostic plug if you moved the bracket while installing plugs?

Then, use the FSM approved method and check if you really have spark by pulling a driver side plug and grounding it with an insulated tool. Then follow the attached:

If you have good spark, then try some starter fluid in the intake. If you still haven't found it, post back.
