no start on 1990 4runner

hello I replaced the timing belt on my 1990 4runner. now it is a no start inless you spray it with starting fluid and it will run till it runs out. I have fuel pressure and injection pulse. so no idea what it could be any input will help.

is the cold start injector spraying? it's located on right side of upper intake, if 22re.

3.0 v6 yes the cold start injector is working.

Well, if it runs on starting fluid, the problem has to be injectors/fuel delivery.

Check to see if the fuel pump is running. You can do so by jumping the test connector for it like so:

You should hear the pump start running. If not, check the pump. If it is, see if she starts up with jumper installed. If it does, you'll have to diagnose where the problem is coming from. Could be fuse, MAF, wiring somewhere disconnected or shorted or broken.

If it still doesn't start, even though the pump is running, start looking at the injector pack, wiring to injectors, ground on engine, etc.

This should get you closer to a solution, let's see where it goes from here!

there are a bunch of relay's in the starting sequence. in my own no start i had to add a bypass relay to the fuel pump.

Was it running alright before you did the timing belt?

Shouldn't just not start if all you did was the timing belt and had no previous issues.

OKay, so when the pump ran, could you get it to start and run?

If not, its probably not relays, but if it did run, then I'd check the relays shown in Willy's post.

I know that when I turn my key to the start position (actual cranking position, not ON position), if I don't have the clutch engaged, I can hear the fuel pump pumping, that would confirm if the relays were working, but only if you have a manual trans.

Just trying to figure out if you have an issue with fuel flowing TO the injectors, or fuel flowing OUT of the injectors. Its obvious that the vehicle runs with starter fluid, so it has to be fuel flow at this point, just need to determine the above before moving forward.
