No Sunroof - rare?

Is there a database somewhere which lists how many vehicles were produced with certain options? My '97 has no sunroof, and I have never seen another 3rd gen without a sunroof so I'm curious as to how many were built without them.

It's not really important, I'm just curious...

I use my sunroof quite a bit, but I would like to have the extra headroom that a non-sunroof model gives.

I like not having it. In AZ the sun will heat the crap out of the interior without the shade closed, and scorch your brain if the glass is open.

Well base and sr5 models wouldn't come with one from the factory unless ordered. About 2000 or 2001 the limiteds come standard with one, perhaps even earlier limiteds. It's a nice big one compared to most others, feels great in cooler weather with it and rear down a few inches, still quite and breezy. :cowboy:

Funny thing, I always assumed it was a fairly rare option on the base/SR5's - until I was on here for a while. Mine is a '99 SR5 and came without one... required, because the roof is already almost too low for my dad to drive it!

No sunroof here. Was a Limited option. The sunroofs are more common on 99+ models years I think.

I drive a '98 SR5 and I wish I had a sun roof. Although I'm in the Great White North, so any extra warmth is a welcomed treat

I have a sunroof ('98 SR5), but my brothers '97 SR5 doesn't. I was at a junk yard today and 3 of the 4 3rd gens did not have a sunroofs too. :noidea:

According to my 97 brochure they were packaged with other options in three different package options. Package #2 and #3 came with the power sunroof along with some other options like tow package and roof rack.

I've got a '97 with no sunroof! I don't mind not having one. Also ... I'm getting ready to install a field monitor unit, and will document the process for you in case you ever decide to install one. The only install guides I've found on the internet to date are for sunroof models

Not every limited came with sunroof. My father 00 limited didn't come with one, but my 98 SR5 did.
