No transmission after engine swap

I rebuilt the engine so it was down for about 6 months. The automatic trans worked fine prior to and the install went pretty easy. The torque convertor seemed correct and bolted up fine. The motor runs fine, no noises. The gear indicator shows the proper gear and I believe all connections are solid.
I have nothing, no forward or reverse. No funny sounds, nothing.
The FSM has a note about resetting the ECU after a trans or motor swap. I have the same engine it was just disconnected for awhile.

Anyone ever deal with something like this?
Its an 08, 4.0

I may not be much help here as im still new to the runners but ive pulled apart other cars in the past.

Same motor and same trans so you know everything works. You said that the gear indicator shows the proper gear.

If you shift it to neutral are you able to push the rig at all or is it stuck in park with the entire trans locked up? I know it sounds time consuming but id make sure that all pigtails are in the correct location, id follow the harness to make sure nothing is kinked and id reset all ECUs in the vehicle.

Good luck and hopefully someone with more knowledge will chime in.

The truck has all 4 wheels off the ground. I did check that park was park and the drive shaft are not locked out of park. Your plan is good, I'll check all connections here shortly.

Well, during the swap I had drained the trans oil and cleaned the screen. Drained it early on and then once I pulled the pan which was maybe 3 months later and once again more oil. When I filled it I think I put in about 3.5 qts.
So today I ran it and got the trans fluid up to 115 and removed the over flow plug, Nothing.
I added about 2 qts and it drips from the overflow tube. Went thru the gears and funny thing, RPM's dropped and I now have fwd and reverse.

I'll go thru the level check again tomorrow and see how things go,
I have the rear drive shaft out replacing the center bearing so Its front wheels only for the first test drive tomorrow.

Thanks for the suggestions. Its the little things that get you.
