I know, I could be researching this question on this site, or using Google, but between school and work, I have zero time, so please bare with me and try to help a brother out.
Just yesterday I started my car and drove off to school and I noticed a squeaking noise coming from what seemed to be my front drivers side wheel area. Now, I'm mechanically inclined and have a pretty good ear for noises, but this one is kinda weird. It's a "dry" squeak, almost a clacking, if that makes sense. It didnt seem to happen over every bump and I think it happens more when I turn the wheel. Basically it squeaked in every kind of situation, but after a while, it stops. It has only done it the last two mornings for a few miles and then it stops. Even after the car's been parked for over hours. So basically, it only does it when the car is cold and after the cars been warmed up, it stops.
First thing I checked was my lug nuts, all good. I gave a quick glance under at the ball joints and cv joints, all good...old....but all good. So I'm thinking, maybe a wheel bearing? Anyway, I'll be looking at it this Sunday but I wanted to get some ideas first. Anything helps.
