RECENTLY FOUND AND TRIED A SET OF NOKIAN ROTIIVA'S
GREAT LOOKING TIRE WITH A LOT OF NICE TECH SPECS BUT... VERY SOFT SIDEWALLS AND SQUISHY RIDE. ALSO VIBRATED AT THREE DISTINCT SPEEDS- 35-40, 70-75 AND 85+ AND VERY LIGHT TIRES AT ~<40Lbs. SENT THEM BACK AND AFTER RESEARCHING CONSUMER REPORTS WENT WITH THEIR TOP RATED ALL TERRAIN TIRESISCOVERER AT3'S.

My Father-in-law works for Nokian and recommended against the Rotiva for my 4R. I do have Hakkapellita 7 SUV studded winter tires and they are excellent. For spring/summer/fall I went with Michelin LTS M/X2's.

I don't mud or do any serious off roading with mine.

I have heard good things about those. But since i live down south guess I wont be using any snow tires for a while. These Coopers look awesome and ride well too.

You should try the Nokian WR G2 SUV. I'm on my second set and have no complaints. The first set balanced out well, were a great year round New England tire, and lasted 49k+ miles. I only have about 2k miles on the second set, but they balanced out just as well as the first and ride very well.

The 4Runner is my wife's daily driver and the family trickster on the weekends. It really only sees gravel & dirt roads occasionally, the Nokians are fine for that as well. I looked at the Cooper AT3 as a possible alternative to the Nokians but they looked a bit too off road'ish for the back & forth to work stuff she does.

why would you be using winter rated tires in kentucky? sorry but i think im going to go ahead with the rotiivas.

I had Rotivas on my GX and they were excellent, and very long lasting. Maybe they were balanced incorrectly?

I have very good luck with Nokian tires. The only thing I don't like them now is they made in Russia.

That's significant. What were you running before the Rotiivas? On a 5-scale rating system Consumer Reports puts the Rotiivas in the middle (good) for rolling resistance. They are not the worst. There are also a/t tires that scored "excellent" for resistance.
