Non-DRL Harness

My T4R came with the DRL option which I've already had turned off by the dealer. I've added LED signal bulbs to my four corners and I bought a Toyota LED relay to take care of the hyper flash. When I got to the DRL relay I noticed that the connections wouldn't work and after some searching the best I could come up with is I need the harness shown in this post: "Daytime Running Lights" My question is where can I get this harness? Anyone that has switched to DRL's have one kicking around or know what the part number to this is?

I'd like to help, but I haven't gotten the DRL relay yet so switch out, so I can't send you mine. I would, however, like to ask if you have the part number for the Toyota LED flasher relay. Does it prevent you from having the DRLs as well? I'm guessing it does since you're asking for a non-DRL relay wiring harness. I suppose I'd rather have LED turn signals than the DRLs anyway.

I have mine laying around the garage somewhere... Swapped my non-drl to DRLs back when I got my 4Runner new in 06..

Thanks for the offers guys! Well I went to the dealership this afternoon with pictures of the harness & relays and hopefully picked out the right cable from their parts screen diagram. Computer would only show a rough sketch of the relay harness and went on a chance it would work. Problem is it's going to take about a week to get here. If it doesn't work, some of you guys may be getting PM's.

I'm not being a smart asss.... what end result are you trying to come up with ?


I also did not know if you swapped to LED bulbs you need a different signal relay. I thought that LED bulbs were a direct swap without any problems. What do people do when they change inside bulbs and such ?

Since the LED bulbs have such a low current draw, it makes the original electronic relay think that there is a bulb out which gives you that 'hyper-flash'. An LED specific relay will solve that issue giving you a normal flash rate.

Having bulbs for your marker, tail, and interior lights have no negative side effects other than they use very little energy compared to incandescant bulbs. I also like my white led interior bulbs since it makes my interior 'brighter' if you know what I mean.

Got the harness! Everything works great. If there's any downside at all is that my lights don't flash when I lock and unlock the truck. Otherwise it beats having a resistor on every corner.

Edit: BTW, the part number for this if anyone is looking to go my route is: 82241-35010 'WIRE, RELAY'.

I am just trying to eliminate my drl. I bought the non drl relay and no it wont plug in. This harness will allow you to plug in the non drl relay? It is just like the harness pictured without the relay attached?

DRL's can be turned off by the dealer and their scan tool, you don't need to buy the relay. They just can't add DRL's to non-DRL models this way.

Just wanted to add that I bought the harness mentioned above, Toyota part number 82241-35010, and seems to work great. I have a 2004 SE V8 4WD, swapped taillights for 2008 LED versions, and replaced all other bulbs with LEDs from superbrightleds.com. Flashes perfectly and still blinks when I lock/unlock.
