Noob from NC looking to buy my 1st yota

Whats up guys Names Brian live in Mooresville NC. Looking to buy my first 4runner. The tranny in my acura cl just went out so I sold it. I have been wanting a 4runner for a very long time. Well I found on cl a 94 v6 4x4 needing just a little work owner says when going over bumps there is a slight clunk on front end says should be struts or something has about 187,000 miles on her. Wants1200. I figured thats pretty good. Just figured I'd join and start learning about them. I plan on looking at her tomorrow and maybe I will pick it up if everything checks out. Anything I should look for?
Also he doesnt know when the timing belt was changed so that is most likely the first thing I will do. That and the tires it needs.

Hello and welcome, Brian! Sounds like that 94 might be a good place to start, and at a reasonable price. First thing I'd do if I were you would be to replace that foreign V4 for a V6 (LOL!). Sorry--couldn't help it. Smart move on getting the timing belt taken care of. Plenty of knowledgable folks on here, so don't be shy. Best of luck with the new rig!

That would explain why the price was so reasonable up front. No worries--there are plenty out there. Take your time and find a good one.

Yea I mean it was decent. Had a oil leak out of the passenger valve cover n timing belt needed to be replaces. Front seats were torn was a sr5. And man that thing was gutless no power at all. I really wanted it but I just don't think it was the right one. I was tempted to offer him $800. But I told him I'd text n let him kno.

OK guys I found another 4runner. This one is a 99 4wd. The lady wants 2300 for it firm. 150,000 miles almost all the maint records waiting to hear when timing belt was changed. But has dent in door and on front end. No biggie though I can do body work n paint. Ima go look at it tomorrow morning. Hopefully she doesnt sell it tonight lol
