Noob with Scion Questions

I've read the threads out there on scion head units. Here's another question.....I just bought a 2003 4r sr5 with the stock non-jbl stereo. Will these scion stereos work in an 03??? What model numbers do I need to shop for?? Are there any model numbers I should stay away from?? I would like to be able to customize the greeting on the screen so it doesn't say "scion". Thanks for any help. This forum rocks! Glad I found it!

Any of the scions will work in your 03. Buy one that has a model T1804 or after as they are the ones you can customize the greeting. Welcome to the site.

I noticed they are getting very proud of those head units on ebay. People say they have bought those for $80, but I'm seeing them for $300! For that price I could buy a nice after market unit. Guess I'll keep shopping.

you should look for the 06 model. it has a knob for the volume instead of buttons, and imo looks better. ive bought 2 from ebay, 100 shipped each, one was the regular 06 model, one was the ipod ready (or not so ready if you dont have an 06 scion) model. i sold the regular model for almost 150 shipped though, so they are moving up in price like you said.
i think it is definately worth the money if you can get one under 150

I picked up a T1804 out of a 05 scion for $52.00 Shipped off Ebay about 3 months ago. There are deals to be had just be patient and keep looking.

That sounds like the price for the 6cd Scion unit. Mine was $230.
