Welcome to my first thread post on this forum,

I will continue to update this feed with every mod install.

Just this past July I picked up a 2002 4runner SR5 after owning a 2003 Seqouia Limited since highschool. I sold the old tank after going back and forth on pro's and con's and finally made the decision to sell it.. which i still regret. However, as time went by I came across my new project, picked up a base white SR5 with 169k behind it already (Old Sequoia sold @ 260k). And so the journey begins! I will be transforming my build into a stormtrooping beast :vader:
Please leave thoughts and suggestions below would love to hear feedback!

Did you dip your wheels? Been considering it. I dipped my emblems but after a month I didn't like it anymore lol.
I did, I also did my emblems and my front grill (in the last set of pics). I found if you add 4/5 solid layers with a top clear shine coat it works out best. Also when I clean my car I spray over my dips with tire shine foam and they look great after. Just throw some newspaper behind your wheel and some playing cards around your rim brim if you aren't going to remove your wheel. Good luck!

Adding some gloss to the plasti-dip isn't a bad idea. Wish I had tried that. At the end of the day I didn't think it looked that great with my white/silver combination though lol.

Nice looking 4R - I'm considering placing a light bar up top on the rack like you did. Did you notice any wind noise with the rack?
Thanks.

lol yea, a good idea you might try is taking a pic of your car and messing with color designs inside a program. ofc you wont get the final look but a rough idea is sometimes better than nada.

Awesome! Same truck lol. Here's my before and after so far. I'm not sure how to link my thread to this
no worries! Lookin' good so far! I picked up more paint this past weekend and planned on doing my fenders as you did but not sure how i feel about the running boards with wear&tear. Do you have any issues with peeling? I know from my door handles that this is a problem if you are careless w the paint. Also reminded me I need my front windows tinted :behindsofa:
the led bar was a great purchase, kf4aqo . I have seen many people post about the whistling of the wind drag on the light bar, but I have yet to have this problem. Only time I have noticed this is with my sunroof open above 50mph, but the whistling is very-very light; with music on you don't hear it. :p Or I might have just got lucky when mounting and positioning the bar

How was that old sequoia running with 260k on it? Im debating picking up a V6 4Runner with 160-190k miles on it so.... lol
ran like a beast, it was a v8 Limited and probably drove it harder than I should have.. my first ticket was 120 in a 75, luckily wrote me up for 100 xD I also took it up to the mountains almost every other weekend here in CO. Went snowboarding whenever I could. I just picked up my 02 4r with 189k with little worries about miles. What year 4rnr are you looking into?

Nice nice! Im hoping to get into a 4th generation 4runner. I just love the interior much more than the 3rd generations lol. But The exteriors are nice too. Just hard finding one under 10k that has low-ish miles

10/08/2017 Update: took a quick trip to Old Stage Pass while it was still dry, today however we have 2” of fresh snow so I’ll be heading up there sometime this week for comparison pics!
