Sorry for the late post. I am down. Along with Eric, Let me know about the final date. Have a tranny cooler and rear brake line to put on. Possibly axle seal.

Well the thinking is... if this meet is going to be held at Stanley Fab then perhaps [MENTION=83666]renosauce[/MENTION] could fab one and weld it on. With payment of course.

sorry i have been MIA...been super busy!
I am down for a meet and greet...alot of what you guys are talking about are fairly long jobs...I can facilitate a meet and greet, maybe 1-3 trucks being worked on but...having 10 trucks apart to be worked on might be a crazy thing to do....
A Lot of this stuff isn't just a 10 min job.
I have had other truck meets and they turned out super fun. If we did a T4R one we would specifically have to have what we want lined up..i can fit 3 trucks in my shop at once if my trucks are out of there.. I have to finish a Axle conversion on my Trekker this coming week or two..so that is on my Agenda, My f150 prerunner can be pushed out for the day... if this is what you guys want to do let me look at my Calendar and see what works...

I'm a bay area mechanic as well, I would have less than zero problems bringing my tools and equipment to wherever to help as many members out as possible!
Head gasket problem. After commuting, I stopped and got gas, turned it on, the engine temp spiked to the red zone, now I have coolant leaking into the engine oil. I'm debating on a rebuild, which would be the 3rd time, or engine swap. My problem to a rebuild is that it'd be the 3rd time I'd do a head gasket... =/ Engine swap, you just don't know how reliable that engine is...

do you think there is space on the street to work on small things?
it might be hard for more than 2/3 people to work on a car at the same time, which would leave a bunch of people just kind of standing around...
if we can only accommodate 3 cars a time, we should develop a schedule so everyone gets a chance. but idk.

I vote for whatever fab shop you guys are talkin about. Ill come for that even if I'm not in my runner ill join somehow!
I vote for a location in East Bay so Kim can get his 4R on the road again!

The dates are getting closer!
April 26 is only 2 weeks away!!!!
So I'm assuming this might get pushed into May.
I'm trolling this thread so we can get some momentum!

Love to get a date actually set on stone.
PIPE up everyone! Lets expedite this meet! Tell us days that DO work. To keep it positive.
Way too excited. Wish we could have a meet once a month or start planning a trail ride in hollister or other noteworthy trail spots!
Had a mini mod meet yesterday in half moon bay! ARB bumper installed!

I would say that if you have had to rebuild it more than once for a head gasket issue then you are looking at a warped block or head. I'd definitely look into a swap to a known working motor. Sorry to hear about the bad luck bud. Hope it is all up and going soon with minor cost.

Yeah that's what I'm leaning towards too. My question now is that since the engine would be younger and stronger, would I have to worry about my transmission not handling that power or what now. Transmission has 280k on it like the old engine.

If your trans is shifting smooth and has no issues, I'd say you're safe. If your trans is funky and not quite right then you already have an issue reguardless of new or old engine.
