"normal" brake pad life 4th generation

I replaced the front pads for the first time at 20,000 miles. I have a V8 and drive an average of 250 miles a week. I can't find out for sure what's the rule of thumb here, it all depends on the kind of traffic you drive and your braking habits.

When are we suppost to change the brake fluid, it is not listed in any of the maintenance intervals, same thing for the power steering fluid, they eventually get real dirty

I would think every 30K miles for the brake fluid depending on the climate you live in. I changed the PS fluid on my 95 Landcruiser at 130K miles and the PS started leaking.

20 k on aset of Toyota pads is the worst I have ever seen. I would change my braking habits.
