LETS DO IT!

So anyone that is interested in coming down to check out Red Cloud Off Road Park on the 13th of December just post a reply below!

Here are the deets:

The park opens at 10am. You will want to register on their website before hand, makes things a lot easier and quicker. Right now there isn't a time slot open but lets keep it tentative that we can reserve some spots. If you haven't been before you will need to fill out a few forms and bring them with you (this will help speed it along so we can hit the trails).

There are a few required recovery items you will need. Check out their website:

There is plenty to do from stock trails to full on custom modded solid axle, lockers, and 38's to get through some of the stuff they have. The majority is mud fyi...but there are some really fun hills and creeks to run through. Better than eatin black top thats for sure.

Guys my, i am going have to pass this time, but if next week is a go again i can join. My rig is under surgery and afraid it won't be complete for this weekend event. I can come down on my slammed BMW but i don't think it's going to work....Have fun and takes lots of photos.

Wow. You got some great shots! The gallery is set to auto sort by time taken so you will see your uploads interleaved.

I can't believe you got a shot of the lower valence panel (silver color, with license plate) in mid air as I... err, calmly traversed that mud hole. You also got a much better shot/perspective of the steep hill climb.

I'd be down for the 24th. What tires did you end up going with???

The day after, I found all kinds of sht I needed to fix... haha. I put a gash in my right rear tire, so right now I'm rollin on the spare. My idler pulleys are making noise, my brake pedal is super squishy, and all kinds of scrapes all over the body. All part of the game... i guess.

The day after, I found all kinds of sht I needed to fix... haha. I put a gash in my right rear tire, so right now I'm rollin on the spare. My idler pulleys are making noise, my brake pedal is super squishy, and all kinds of scrapes all over the body. All part of the game... i guess.

Uhh, Brian talking about the DuraTracs really got me thinking. I priced out 5 DuraTracs and 4 Trail Grapplers and pulled the trigger on them(The Nitto's). About 10 minutes later i read something about how bad TGs are in snow and tried to cancel the order from Amazon. They wouldn't let me until i complained and so they are "trying" to even as we speak. Either way i'll either have DuraTracs or Trail Grapplers next time i see you guys.


I have some scratches and a major dent in diff skid but mechanically the truck seems to be running fine. Hopefully nothing serious with your truck, if you need help wrenching let me know. You were hard charging man so i'm not surprised.

So a few pointers for what I already have been through. My idler pulleys went bad on me but i bought my guy used and certified through toyota and they fixed all of that fo frizzle (well minus the 50 dollar copay). Might be worth a look to see if it still falls underneath the warranty.

As far as the pedal being squishy that is a pretty common thing for our 4runners. I replaced all my calipers/pads/ and actually brake lines but my guess is you just have some mud caked on those calipers and that is giving you the squishy feeling.

And scrapes are a no biggy, might look like it cant get out but dude the buffer i bought has definitely paid for itself. Definitely give me a shout if you have any questions on any of it.

As far as my carnage, I managed to dump off a nut or two from my extended rear sway bar end link and had to do some trail maintenance and jerry-rig that thing back together. Spent an hour or so re-installing on Sunday and through a bunch more locktite and put some back-up nuts to keep them from coming off again.

Nice. I'm sure you'll be happy with either set of tires. After the tire damage over the weekend, I'm leaning towards some new 285s. I'm looking at the Hankook Dynapro MTs.

Im at over 153K miles, so the warranty is a distant memory... Haha. I'm 90% sure it's the idler pulleys. Did yours go bad after hitting mud holes???
Should be an easy fix (from what I've read). Just have to find the time and space to replace them.
