Hey everyone, when I get going over 40MPH my steering wheel starts shaking and only gets worse as I go faster. But, when I make a turn while it is shaking it will stop shaking until the wheel is straight again. does anyone have any clue what is going on or where I should start to fix this problem? This is my daily driver and thanks in advance.

The first place to check is the front tires. Have they been balanced? Did you get new tires recently? If the tires are OK then check the steering linkages for wear, also check the mounts for the rack and pinion. For anything more specific we need to know what year the truck is and if 4X2 or 4X4.

I had a similar prob but it wasnt quite as drastic, 65-75mph steering wheel would shake but if i was in the middle of a turn at that same speed, it would not shake. I replaced the steering rack bushings and everything is good now.
