Thanks Gents! Hopefully CH4x4 will take these back. Will shell out the $ for AOB at a future date when I tear apart the interior again. Hate when you plan something out and research only to be stymied by crappy product.

My AOB switch works whenever it but the lighting isn't all that good. Its also brighter than the stock switches. Some day I might pull it apart and see if i can add a diffuser that could both dim and even out the color. This is me being hyper critical!
I got one last month, have issues with it sticking in the on position and not being able to turn it off without prying. Or it not staying on when pressing, basically a momentary switch..considering replacing with AOB now...

My AOB switches all fit and work fine. Only problem I had was burning one out but that was my fault for wiring it wrong. They do look a little cheap compared to the stock, but I don’t spend a lot of time looking closely at my switches so not a big deal.

Same internal design as the AOB switches, of course I find these after getting 5 AOB's.

Digging this thread up to see if anyone has updates on the CH4X4 vs. AOB switches, and if either have improved in quality. I'm looking at purchasing some of the Toyota Short switches for a bunch of accessories.
Also, there's now another company offering these switches - STEDI out of Australia. Anyone know how their quality compares to AOB and CH4X4? They actually have a variety of different switches for OEM fitment applications (Toyota tall, Toyota short, etc). They may be the exact same switches with all of the same issues as the other vendors.

I would like to hear what others are saying too! I am ready to pull the trigger on some switches but a little reluctant. AOB appears to be the best of the worst. Another company called Mictuning looks interesting.

Your switch (AOB or CH4x4) works perfectly but becomes momentary once installed? Take it out and test it, it will work perfectly again. The problem is not a switch but your factory opening where switch goes. It has few small plastic protrusions inside which prevent your switch from being depressed fully (don't ask how I know). All you have to do is to use a small blade or a wood chisel and cut those ribs off. It takes less than a minute and your switch will fit and operate as intended.

I have 3 switches by CH4X4 & all 3 work just fine. Just saying...
ONE complaint is the LED in the "sasquatch" light that illuminates when activated, no longer lights up (which is kind of a burn, because it controlls my rear amber led light pod & not knowing if that is on can suck).
But yea, good switches imo

I have one CH4x4 switch for my light bar. I have the same issue as many here, it doesn't seem to fit correctly. I had wrap it in some tape before inserting it so that it actually fits snugly and doesn't get stuck when pressed. Bought in the last 6 months for what that's worth.
CH switch wired a push button switch for an amplifier remote turn off what I did was
green wire to remote wire from head unit
Red 1 wired to the other half of the remote wire leading to my amplifier
Black grounded to a bolt inside the dash panel at this point everything worked with the button only illuminating when turned on I regret not leaving it like this
Here is where it gets tricky I tried to tap red number 2 into the neighboring buttons first the 400w 120v button I scraped some insulation off the green wire didn’t work then tried the pink wire wire didn’t work then moved to the windshield wiper button and tapped into the red it didn’t work I don’t think wires shorted touching each other because I made slices in much different areas of my wire I did this in hopes to Daisy chain my dash light circuit so my button illuminated with the dash lights not just when it was turned on well after doing this I now have no

the lights on the dash for the a/c controls do not illuminate
Also when my parking break is applied I have no red illumination indicator on my dash
The windshield wiper button illuminates but the 400 power button does not
I’ve checked every wire every fuse looks good disconnected my button I shouldn’t have bought but I’m stuck does anyone have any idea about what’s going on here

AOB Sucks and so does customer service
I paid extra for the OEM blue switch, they sent me the cheaper ugly BRIGHT blue one. I emailed them and they sent the correct one that I paid for. Ok, great, but I hooked that up and it was defective. It did not light up the image when I turned it on - as others have experienced. I emailed Craig at AOB again. Only to get a ton of push back. They do not stand behind their products. And I see many people write that their switches fail. You'd think AOB would rather avoid negative comments over a $20 switch. Nope. They don't care.
So... I bought a cheap $8 switch off eBay and it worked PERFECT. Had the ugly blue LED though - so I opened it to solder in a different color LED... guess what.. same EXACT manufacturer as AOB. "Newtop".
I may have to start a new business to compete with AOB and help all us 5th gen 4runner owners out. Now... if I can find a source for the ice/light blue LED... hmmm...

I bought the sasquatch light as well (because I live in the Pacific NW!) and the image NEVER lite up for me as new. And AOB didn't care. I kept trying to problem solve (knowing it was defective) They didn't care. I hate AOB because of their responses.

I have CH4x4 switches for my ARB compressor and locker. They work great so far. But the locker is shit - so I'm going to remove them anyway when I remove the locker. They are very light duty switches made for signal not full power. You need to run them with relays. Then they should work well.
