Could be something you ran over (oil on the road, grease, etc) or the shock leaking, maybe something from the engine. You'd have to look for a leak.

Yeah, it's just the upper ball joint leaking grease. I've seen it before on lots of 3rd gens (mine too) and honestly didn't really care.

No you are good. Yeah it is torn and dirt will get into it. It will eventually fail but not as soon as you think. I wouldn't worry about it. Just shake down your front end every time you do an oil change and check for play and you will be all right. Both of mine are like that and its not a big concern for me right now as it is tight.

Just looks like a blown shock. Not gonna kill ya to not fix it right away. Remember that your shocks just provide dampening for the springs, so if your shock is shot, it will speed-up the wearing-out of your spring.

Looks to me like it's time for a new SUSPENSION LIFFFFFFT! They come with shocks!:naughty::naughty:

Well..driving home from work I hear a loud rattling coming from under my car..sounded like I was dragging something..I get out and climb under with my flashlight to see the oil pan is covered in oil..crapola this will probably be expensive
