i am alright, just not going to sleep 2 night
12:00 taking my girlfriend home after watching tv at her grandpernts house, drop her off and start to leave neighborhood to go home.
as i make the last turn out of the neighborhood i dont think to engadge 4WD and the roads are bad (snowed lastnight) so i accelorate. the rear end looses it, starts sliding toward the curb, mannage to miss the light pole at 30 MPH and slam into the gate protecting the neighbor hood gas meter.

damage:BAD

bug deflector is shatterd
brushguard is shot (i dont car what people say, it saved the engine)
lower plastic is shatterd
chroms bumper is bent in half
grill is bent
right side light spacer is bent
2 lower fog lights are gone off brush guard

Certainly brings back memories of my accident. Lucky you didn't have to talk to PD that nite? So is this time to change the front end look?

Oh, reminds me of many memories... Hah. Good that your okay, the steel frame in front saved alot, I've gone through fences and trees and street lamps, never had any problem with the front part 'cause of my home made steel frame in the front.

If metal bends, it's just telling you that you need to make things more massive next time.

Well, there's only one solution to that problem, find a cheap stick (none-mig) welding machine (the one with the welding pins, can't remember the english word for it!), and pins and start to practice!

My father taught me a little bit and with that small knowledge I just practiced and practiced until I could make things strong enough to withstand what *I* wanted it to withstand! (Basically driving at concrete at least 40km/h, that's my test for things.)

Just start with normal rutile and then when you get better at that, go to Basic (I think that's the word for it) welding pins, they are tougher and much better for stronger apps.
I do all my welding on this type of welder and they are no harder to use than a MIG with mison gas.
I could start this thread in arguing why welding with this type of a welder is stronger than MIG welding, but I'd prefer not to.
