Now it's my turn....

....to become yet another 04 owner who trades for an 06.

This time, I'm getting a Titanium Sport Edition with dark charcoal leather; homelink; this really cool rearview mirror/camera thing; heated massage seats; spoiler; front and side curtain airbags; JBL six cd changer; daytime running lights. I think there are a few more added options but I can't remember right now.

For those of you who ask why I'd go from a Limited to a Sport - well, I like the look of the Sport better. I like the hood scoop, I like the Sport wheels, and I got the options that I wanted that are very similar to a Limited. I especially like the tubular racks and steps. All in all, I got most of the options a Limited has and am paying about $3,000 bucks less.

I got the truck for $1,500 UNDER invoice (yes you read that correctly) but took a huge hit on the trade, mainly bc I racked up 64,000 miles in a little over two years. But, I got trade-in values from three different sites and the dealer gave me a fair value, so I'm fine with it. Oh well, that's the price we pay for a little bit of OCD about our vehicles.

Oh yeah - I'm making them take my new Silent Armors off my 04 and put them on my 06. No way I'd give those up and stick with the crappy Dunlops, I don't think so.

I'll try to get pics up when I get it - should arrive this weekend.

sounds nifty. Congratulations!
I tried my dealer on similar pricing but no-go yet. Was there a rebate involved with that under invoice deal? Was it already on the lot inventory, or was it pre-ordered or transfered? Thx

Yes, the current rebate offered by Toyota is $1,500 and I'm not sure when it ends. Of course, they started out by offering the rebate off the MSRP but we nipped that pretty quick. Within two minutes we agreed on the price. The tricky part was finding a vehicle, mainly bc I had my mind made up that I was getting a Shadow Mica.

The salesman literally spent the next hour trying to track down a vehicle that fit what I wanted option-wise. I told him I'd be flexible on the color, really, bc I think the truck looks great in any color. When he told me that I could get a dark charcoal leather interior in the Sport, yeah, I wanted the Titanium.

He checked some sites and found this one already in transit, allocated to a dealership in Alabama. He made a phone call and the two dealers agreed to swap for one on the lot. So, looks like I'll be getting it this weekend (hopefully).

This dealer is definitely state-of-the-art. They had all these aftermarket things, like the rearview mirror camera. When I found out about massage seats, of course I just had to get them. Added like $2 per month to my payment.

Thanks for all the comments, I'm really looking forward to getting this. This will be 4Runner #3 for me :)

Congrats on the new 4Runner. The massage seats sound comfortable. When I traded my 2003 Sport for my 2005 Limited, I made the dealer swap the Revos from the my 2003 to the 2005. You are not the only one! :D Post some pics when you get your new truck!
