This system features 2.5" stainless steel tubing, a single performance muffler, and 4" polished tip. LOL, was just going to say this is a very hostile place to say "Dyno tested and proven to make power, Performance gains in horsepower & torque"... Even if he provided the dyno results, they'd be shot down as useless due to his use of a fan or environmental variences :cheer2:

Nice looking system, wish it had the option to offer a side exit behind the tire however.

That has a side exit though, my 2010 has a rear exit with the cutout in the bumper.

Is there any reason the 2012 model wouldnt work?

I dont see why this wouldnt work, most exhaust systems fit all years 10-15. Its got to be a clearance issue with the plastic or something but Im sure you could get this one to work no problem, all the hanger locations are in the correct spot.

If you have a 2013 or older Sr5 or Limited then you need to go with the rear exit. 2014-up Sr5 and Trail will take the rear or side exit. I have the side exit on my 2014 Sr5 and it does fit perfectly. The part munbers for the entire exhaust are exactly the same with the exception of the tail pipe. I did all my research and contacted Magnaflow before pulling the trigger on mine.

About a week or 10 days ago there was an entire thread devoted to the installation of a Magnaflow system with a 3" diameter exhaust pipe, including a side exit. It was a great thread with photos of the installation. Was that your thread?

Borla has a system too (4Runner 2010-2015 Cat-Back Exhaust part # 140379). I've been back and forth about witch one to get. Not that I think there will be a big performance gain... I just wanted something to sound a little meaner.

Yea, great thread. Your thread really got me thinking about creating a dual exhaust system with a dual inlet/outlet Magnaflow muffler. I want to cut the Toyota Y just past the 2nd cats and install separate 3" pipes all the way back. These 2 1/2" pipes and muffler may be good enough if they're separate past the cats. There's a really good custom muffler shop near me that could do all the cutting, custom tubes, welding and fit-up.

How is the full system really different than replacing the muffler with the 12256 (other than new pipes which I know I would cut up anyhow)? Honest question.

New pipes made of stainless vs mild steel, a polished tip, upgraded muffler etc. Its a bolt on option that will work great for most. If you are looking for builder or individual components, we carry a ton of universal fit items from Magnaflow, Borla and Vibrant.
