Installed the Magnaflow Side Exit Exhaust on my 2014 Sr5

Well I finally pulled the trigger and decided to give this a try after finishing my research. I wanted a side exit exhaust for my 2014 Sr5 and nobody seemed to make one. The exhaust in the Magnaflow video shows a side exit exhaust but doesn't give you that option when you put in my year, it does however when you put in a 2010-2011. I called Magnaflow tech support and confirmed that all the part numbers for the two kits are the same with the exception of the tail pipe. The part number for this kit is 15584 and for some reason it's a little cheaper then the straight tail pipe. This will fit Sr5's and Trail models but not the Limited because of the skirting. Install was easy, hardest part was removing the old one. Here are the pics, sorry they are not the greatest but you get the idea.

I'm presuming they drone on tip in fwy speeds or with load going uphill in certain gears? Didn't have much luck on my 4th generation v8 many years ago. Went back to stock which was ridiculously pricey.
 
I am running the same system but with DT headers and I don't thing the drone is bad at all. Of course its a matter of each individual's perception but this system comes with a 22" muffler and it seems that most members with this muffler like it. If you do some surfing on this site you will see a few complaints from the 18" magnaflow. I came from a flowmaster 50 series SUV muffler and that was a little louder and had some drone. When the pipe rusted out where the shop welded it on I bought this system. The stainless steel materials, good reviews and nice side exit are what attracted me. +1 on the installation, it was a cinch after I cut the old rusty exhaust out (NY winters and salt!!!). Probably the easiest mod I have done by far...and I think it sounds great and looks great. Just the right amount of performance tone without being annoying.
 
OP, how accurate are the videos posted? Does it sound like it does in the video? I think i'm gonna pull the trigger on this but I am afraid of the drone. I had it in my 4th gen V6 Borla.
 
The video is pretty accurate, going down the road at 55 there's almost no sound at all. Anything slightly above 1/4 throttle of less brings on the sound and 3/4 to full throttle sounds awesome. It's louder then the TRD exhaust that was on my FJ but not by much. The quality is outstanding and I imagine it'll last forever and it has a lifetime warranty.
 
The look and sound of this exhaust is great. I wasn't thinking about adding an exhaust but this makes me think long and hard about it.
 
Love the look, goofy that they wouldn't go with a side exit exhaust stock as I run the rear window open as much as I can and it gets stinky fast with the exhaust. Definitely going to do this now that you've confirmed this will work. Our trucks are exactly the same from what I can tell, best red color out there on the premium package with 4WD. Mind sharing where you bought it and what you were able to get it for? Best I've seen with free shipping is from Wholesale Performance through Amazon at $682.13.

For those interested, I ended up placing a "buy it now" bid on this with a seller on eBay and my bid for $633 (10% off) with free shipping was accepted immediately. If you go this route, make sure you put in a lower bid! :D

I was excited about MF until reading the issues and lack of support other members were having. Hope it works out, doesn't sound like a customer friendly company.

Hmm I called few times before ordering and I had no problems with their support. Unless it was some warranty issue I can't imagine needing to call them for anything.
 
hey OP, i am getting ready to install this exhaust tonight. Anything I should be aware of or keep an eye out for while installing? Do you remember what the socket size you used? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Would you mind posting a pic of how far down the exhaust tip is from the seam where the rear bumper meets with the rear quarter panel? Maybe just hold a measuring tape up there? Thanks!

No nothing special, I think the factory exhaust is a 15mm in the front and 14mm in the rear. The rear section was the biggest pain cause you have to remove the bolts from the top which makes it more of a pain. Putting the new on is simple, just one piece at a time starting at the front. Good to spray some wd40 on the exhaust hangers to make it easier to slide the exhaust in. Once everythings in place make sure you're not rubbing or hitting anything then tighten from front to back. Hope that helps.
