i have a 1987 4runner it has a no start problem it stalled when running 45 miles per hour. it has fuel pressure spark and no air or vacume leaks the igniter is hotter then heck. does the igniter control the injectors. this has been an ongoing problem with this truck. it has been to 3 repair shops, they have replaced the ecu, and igniter (used parts). what should the fuel pressure be at the test port or where ever you hook it to. for what they want for this igniter (053 model) i want to make sure. if anybody has any advice please help. thank you for your help.

at one time someone replaced the positive battery cable end with one of those clamp on batt. ends . and it built up some corrosion and all they did was strip the wires that go to the fuse block and clamped under the strap. when i turned the fuse box over to look for a loose wire . i noticed the strands moving at the clamp end. i took it apart and install eyelet terminals on the fuse box wires, soaked the starter cable end in some coke a cola.(this stuff eats battery acid). tightend everything up and it started and ran, i have put 150 miles on it since and no problem's. goes to show you no matter how complicated these vehicles are ALLWAYS start with the basics.
