Hey there Yota fans,
I just joined the club recently and I'm noticing 99% of the time, the auto trans is skipping 2nd, and going straight from 1st to 3rd. I'm hoping it's something simple, like a O/D sensor. Anyone have any experience with this??? I thought I might change the tranny fluid and filter, but was told by someone else that I'd be better off diagnosing this problem before changing the fluid, as a tranny with 199,000 mi might start slipping with the introduation of clean fluid. I can't verify the miles on the motor or tranny, but the engine is quite tight and runs very strong, like that of an engine that's been rebuilt possibly.
The tranny will jump 2nd with it cold OR warm, and it's got me slightly worried. I'd like to go off-roading, but I don't see that being a good idea without 2nd gear.
I'd graciously appreciate any help or suggestions!
