O2 Sensors

Ok, I know, I have searched the forum for previous post, but none address tis issue completely.

My car gave the errode to replace the rear O2 Sensor. prices vary, depending on generic or original. I have read plenty of thread to advising to avoid generic O2.

So here I am , thinking... Man, my 2005 SR5 has four, and each cost on average 100.00... that is, if lucky, 400.00.

Though, I one have the code for one sensor, i am pretty sure that in time one of the remaining 3 O2 sensor will fail.. better replace them all...but then again.. $400.00+

I have read that you can try to clean the sensor with MAP sensor cleaner...

So my question is:

Were i can get a reliable and affordable O2 sensor, if possible all four?
Have anyone clean their O2 Sensors? What results?

I picked up an 02 sensor from Rockauto.com for around $70 US for direct Bosch replacement. They have both upstream and downstream units. Been running no problems in mine for months. Got to love having to spend $70 to turn off CEL &! VSC light because the heater on the 02 sensor is what was bad, not the sensor itself.

I think your shipping costs are going to be high though.

thanks! ONe thing, are all four sensor de same? Meaning, same part number? I am considering replacing all four?
 
The upstream (before cat) and downstream are different units. If you get the code read it should tell you which one is bad.

1 sensor going doesn't mean the others are about to go. I replaced 1 so far, rest are ok.

I'm having similar problems. Per OBDII scanner, my Catalyst Readiness Monitor has not been able to reset (part of the Emissions Readiness sequence), hindering me from renewing my tags.

I've cleaned the MAF, now moving on to clean O2 sensors, and if that fails, replace.

Am I headed on the right track?

Also, should I have to replace one or more, should I go with Denso or does it matter? I know the Runners are choosey when it comes to their spark plugs.

224,000 mi 3.4L V6- Readiness Monitor will not reset after changing spark plugs to correct a misfire.
 
I have always thought them sweet O2 sensors are great for making your service Dept. a lot of easy money. As for really doing something good, I have yet to see it.
 
Something i've done in the past is to remove the o2 sensors, and give the heads a good cleaning with a wire brush. then blow them clean with compressed air. I've done this on my corolla about once a year, and its currently at 196,000 miles on the original O2 sensors.
 
Tried cleaning both with a carb cleaner to no effect. A friend was able to help do a voltage test and diagnosed the rear sensor.

Got Denso replacement from Amazon $60.xx
 
AutoZone. Bosch. Lifetime warranty and you can return it if it doesn't fix your problem. I think I paid $60 for the last one I bought, years ago for another vehicle though. Probably close enough to your internet prices with shipping.
