OBD II and more: PLX Kiwi

I stumbled across this.... had a CEL on a CR-V i was selling for a friend. was tired of running between home and autozone for a scan. Since everything is OBD II now... I took the plunge. 150$ (from crutchfield shipped, no tax) for a full code reader. it works through an ipod touch or iphone wirelessly (wifi connection not bluetooth). it will also calculate gas mileage and calculate 0-60, 1/4 mile, and track times with the gps/accelerometer in the iphone (not applicable for the 4runner) we all know our 4runners are: to quote a line from wedding crashers "not built for speed, somewhat comfortable, but fun to play with." it's also expandable to hook up whatever sensors you so desire to with a separate module.

I know I am resurrecting an old post....

But I just saw this online and was wondering what you still think about it, 18 months later.

I was thinking about getting the same model to use with my iPhone 4.

I keep my eyes on the road when driving not trying to see multiple extra gauges or play with an I phone, maybe you can multitask much better than me :bigok::driving:olice: (distracted law in effect where i live )

I got a 20$ OBD2 cable from Tmart.com, and free software, I can't justify spending more than that to do exactly the same thing the $20 cable can do. All i need it to do is check and clear trouble codes, and for $20 well you can't go wrong.

there is a Blue tooth cable from tmart as well for $30 that works just as fine.

If you want more - gas mileage, temps etc, Scan gauge or ultra gauge may be worth it for you not for me.:driving:
