Odd Finding: no Transfer Case skid on GX460

Hey all,

A few weeks ago, i got a chance to look underneath a GX460...and it looks just like a 4runner's underbody EXCEPT that it did not have a skidplate for the transfer case! Although the 4runner's skid is not all that great, but it was just weird not to see it since the GX is a 4wd machine.

Do you GX owners have this skid?

i checked this morning. there is no skid plate below transfer case, no biggie though, how hard would it be to make one?

To be honest, i would not bother with it. The one on the 4runner is very flimsy looking. I would only do it if you really do lots of off-roading.

While I love my runner- the stock skid plate under the transfer case is crap. They get away with it because the cross member is slightly lower so you'd have to drop down on something to hit it.. If you plan on doing any type of off roading with it def look around and see if anyone has made one.
