OEM Hitch Receiver Question

I'm looking into buying a tow hitch for light towing and hauling. My 2000 SR5 didnt' come with a hitch and I found this on Craigslist. Was there anything structurally different between 96' and 97 that would make this not fit on my 2000? And is there a better choice besides the OEM that may even be cheaper, like a Curt hitch? Thanks for the help, i tried searching but didnt get a definitive answer.

I also have one from a 98, that was inverted (cut a slot and mounted upside down) for more clearance. For sale or trade, not needed anymore as I went with a CBI rear.
