OEM lift

I see alot of you have OEM lifts listed under your mods... is this from toyota? and how high does it lift it?

I believe its OME which means old man Emu. That is a lift kit manufacturer specializing in coil spring suspensions. I am sure Toyota does not offer a lift from the dealer.

I believe you are referring to the OME lifts.. ( Old Man Emu )
I have one, and it will lift 2.5" - 3"..I really like mine and I bought it at Slee Off-Road.

I know the OME I actually have it on my Tacoma (from slee) I guess I just had a dyslexic moment there and saw OEM.

I love the OME stuff as well as Slee!

There is also an "OEM" lift for some 3rd gens that uses factory 99 4X4 coils and can lift later years up to roughly 2 inches just by using those coils. Sonoran Steel offers it. There is nothing like that for a 4th Gen though.

Please correct me if I'm wrong , but on a truck like mine ( as an example only ) 06 4th Gen. with Xreas , the OME suspension would probably be a simpler install that spacers , since you will be taking off the Xreas and just putting spring and shock on of your choice , or that they recommend .

I wouldnt say that on an xreas equipped 4r the ome would be a simpler install. In the time you spend removing the entire xreas system to install ome you could simply use a handheld compressor, remove one nut, insert spacer, put top plate back on. Does the ome come set up as a coil pack already or do you need to put the coil on the shock using a compressor? If so then it is definetly no easier, especially now that it is understood that you can disconnect xreas at a certain point.

Slee will sell the coil pack already installed. However it is pretty hard to compare a spacer lift with the OME or any other true suspension lift. Just depends on your price range.

TRBenj used Toyota oem fj cruiser coils to gain 1" on the rear of his 4th gen, and surmised the same may be a possiblity for the front.
