OEM Nav System Pricing?

About how much do you think it would cost to have a factory navigation system put into my truck? I have JBL if that makes any difference.

I'm not sure about it's mounting abilities though. There's no way I want it suctioned to my windshield that's for sure, but there don't seem to be any good mounts other than window mounts.

I saw a member here with a metal piece below the vent. I have suctioned my Garmin 650 to the plastic trim piece. Keeps it low but still usable. I'll see if I can find his info.

Or find an Eclipse AVN unit. Its what Toyota uses anyway. I have a AVN-52D which looks and funtions exactly like the toyota unit. My wife has the OEM unit in her Sequoia it's a FUJITSU 10 unit (Eclipse). AND it gives me control of my IPOD! A must have for me. Pics are on my webpage.

Josh,

Just get an Eclipse 6620. I had an OEM navigation system and decided to replace it with the 6620. It's almost identical to the OEM navigation in functionality and of course it was very familiar to me because the user interface is almost identical as well.

Also, some people will tell you that you have to buy a harness to make the steering wheel controls work, but that's not true at all. It plugs right in without having to add a separate harness.

Try OEMValue. They are supposed to sell the OEM systems for a lot less (around $800.00).

To everyone else suggesting something OTHER than what the OP requested...

When borrowing my buddies Garmin I suctioned it to the plastic trim piece below the a/c vent and had no troubles there either.

Yeah, I'm not sure where snap was getting his number, but the OEM systems are way expensive these days. I purchased one from OEMvalue.com when I first bought my 4Runner and it was much less expensive than they are today.

But the new Eclipse units (AVN 6620) are so much better than OEM. For one thing, you can play DVD movies on the 6620, as it has a separate DVD/CD slot from the navigation DVD slot. Also, you can ground the parking brake wire and have full functionality of everything at all times. The OEM unit locks you out of most functions when you are moving. There used to be a way to work around this, but as far as I know, it doesn't work with the newer map discs.

Another big advantage is that the Eclipse units are much more powerful than the OEM units, which is a big plus if you don't want to start adding external amps.

I just can't imagine spending the money for an OEM system when the aftermarket systems are so much better and less expensive.
