Resonator NEEDED!!

I have the TRD exhaust system on my 08 TT FJ and am in hot pursuit of the resonator that comes on the 4th Gen(I believe) V6 4Runners, to quiet my FJ down.

I did introduce myself in the new member threads and gave more info about myself but if anyone could help me out here I would greatly appreciate it!

Im tired of hearing my FJ constantly fart, 4 layers of dynamat did nothing to help, I just dont like the loud exhaust anymore. Thanks

I know someone that may be looking for a TRD exhaust for their Trail Teams FJ. Would you want to trade back to stock?

Hugo, the resonators are on the V8's as well. Just an FYI. I am sure it will mount up. I am not sure if the diameter if the pipe is exactly the same, but they looked the same to me when I was comparing them.

As I said over on the FJ board, I am using the standard exhaust now on my 2010 Trail Teams and like it WAYYYYY better than the TRD exhaust I had on the 08 Trail Teams. The constant drone was just too much for me. It got old really quickly.

So the idea of trading for a stock exhaust isn't a bad one at all. I test drove a 2007 a few weeks ago with standard exhaust and it sounded just like the standard exhaust on the 2010 and was way way way better to listen to on a long drive than the TRD. It may be much easier to make it all work and fit than adding a resonator, but it will be interesting to see how it all works for you. Best of luck in your search. Where are you going to put the resonator? You do realize that it's a big, bulbous resonator near the end of the exhaust system on 4Runners, right? Do you have a good place to put it on your FJ? Also keep in mind that you'll probably have to put it somewhere near an exhaust hangar to support its weight.

My next door neighbor has an FJ with the TRD exhaust system (the dealership already had it on there when he purchased it new) and he hates it too. He complains about the drone and tells me that it's very annoying.

Where are you located? I have one on my exhaust that I'm just about to trash but of course I don't want to ship it. If you're in AZ you are more than welcome to pick it up. I had to cut the pipe just past the muffler but that shouldn't matter for your scenario.

Thanks for all the help guys. I am located all the way on the East coast. (Virginia Beach area). I am out of town in Ohio for a family reunion, I have not yet had a chance to get under the FJ for this specific reason and look at my options....but I will in a day or 2.....I am open to a trade for my TRD exhaust sytem.
