OEM Skid Plate Bolt Size

As the title says, anyone know the exact dimensions of the bolts that hold the OEM skid plate on? I have read several different posts.. Some say M8x1.25 and other M10.1.25

Anyone have a solid and know the exact size?

As a reference for anyone else who may be looking for these. I used: m10x1.25 for the mounts under radiator and the shortest available m10 bolts for the mounts on the cross member. Picked everything up at Advance Auto

You're at the auto store getting a hardware, borrow their thread chaser kit and give yours a run through.

No way do I think they're 10, probably 8, probably coarse. (><)

These are vulnerable to screw up by mallet heads (previous owners without a doubt) over tightening them. Snuggie does it

The nuts are only a couple millimeters thick and the shields even thinner, so don't get anything too long

It is very possible that they are m8. While searching for the size I found a lot of people saying 8 and a lot saying 10. Right now these are working for me so I'm calling it a day! haha And you're right m10x1.25 was definitely longer than needed for the ones under the radiator.

ya mine are 8. length is purty darn short, its only threaded in to a little more than sheet metal & trapped nuts, any thing more is pointless yet harmless

I bout some back in July. I think I still have the package. I'll go take a look tomorrow and see if the package is still in the car since I didn't use all the bolts

The bolts on my 87 4 Runner are M8 but way too long. I'm gonna go get some shorter ones from the hardware store.

Make sure they are grad 8. Though its unlikely with the skid plate, the bolts can still break
