OEM TRD Pro Fox Shocks Part Number?

I've called a few dealers and they haven't been helpful. One even went as far as to tell me 4Runners have never come with Fox suspension lol. I'm looking for the OEM part number for 2021 TRD Pro Fox shocks. I know they went through a few changes over the years but is this the correct number?

I also found this photo so I'm looking to confirm which spring/perch design the above number has if it is indeed for a 2021.

with this kit and now says its discontinued? Was available a couple weeks ago??
Maybe a sign to go with Dobinsons, just wanted better upgrade and slight lift 1" or so.

Any part with a "PT" part number is not factory installed, rather it is an accessory to be installed later.

Correct. As far as I know, TRD Pro parts are installed at port of entry. That still doesn't answer my question though lol. Just trying to figure out the actual part number for the shocks on my car. They came on every 2021-2022 TRD Pro. 2023 and 2024 are different.

The adjustable Dobinsons should do the same job with lots of adjustability for less.

I don't know if the springs they put on those settle; the regular Dobinsons springs I had did settle a lot. The various types of Bilstein and Eibach springs I have had, 5 total sets between front and rear, never really had excessive height.

I like Fox but I am not seeing the value unless your car came with them and you really liked them.

They are not racing shocks and the 4R cannot really race anyway. That said, it can smoke the Jeeps with simpler front shocks though the rear takes a beating which is why my setup is what it is.

I'll admit I like the stance of the Pro's and thought the TRD Fox kit would already have the any adjustments for left/right and I was able to download the install instructions that come with it. Was definitely waiting to find the right discount and use up some Toyota rewards points to make it more budget friendly. Don't do any major off roading here, mainly fire roads and some dirt/rock roads to camp sites on the New England coast for now. Oh and miles and miles of bunker sized pot holes.

Toyota seems to replace or supersede part numbers now and then (and mis label things) and it takes awhile to correct. Or like you said maybe just out of stock and put into main database as discontinued. I wonder though also if the are now working with OME on the 2025's if there will be a new kit down the road.

If you want minute adjustability the Dobinsons should offer it.

For the rest, I am not sure what people find in the Eibach kit, is it threaded? if so, it could be what you need. But for offroading, those are small shocks and in the rear they are also short. Even 1" lift is noticeable in rock crawling--in a bad way. I have a pair of rear Eibachs for when I need to rebuild the 8100s.

If you don't need minute adjustments, what I have but on the regular springs will give you plush ride quality. You cannot push 6112 on standard springs hard offroad w/o making the bump stops work too hard, but for fire roads at normal speeds and for choppy pavement, they are perfect on the regular springs.

The only 1 thing to pay attention to if getting 6112s is that they changed the location of the notches on the shock so that one shock can accomodate multiple vehicles. What this means is that you may get a lot more lift than expected if the installer/you do not pay attention. It happened to me a month ago when I replaced the previous 6112 preventively. The new ones came on the same settings but gave me like 1.5" extra lift. That was not fun to deal with.

But assuming they are assembled at the correct height, 6112 on standard springs seem the ticket for you. I use them with stiffer springs which make them more capable offroad and less plush on road.

I mean... they HAVE to keep offering these shocks since every TRD Pro made since 2021 uses them. If I have a shock crap out and they need to replace it under warrantee, what are they gonna do if it's discontinued. 2021, 2022 aren't exactly "old" models yet.

Still undecided since it wasn't a rush for me. The Fox TRD Pro Kit seems to be still on backorder (N/A on any site) and no dealership I've contacted has any updates. I found it hard to belleve no-one had a kit laying around in warehouse somewhere?

I'd still like to see what happens with the Fox kit but also may consider a Dobinsons set up. (always great reviews and seems like good longevity on the twin tubes. The OME MT 64's are also of interest, very new so I haven't seen many real world reviews yet.

So many aftermarket suspension kits have been put on these vehicles, did the dealership offer their solution?

I abandoned the idea of getting new OEM TRD Pro Fox shocks. Went with Dirt King instead.
