OEM Wheel Opinion

One of my dad's company trucks is a 2008 Tacoma Access Cab with the Trail Off-Road Edition, as pictured below (not his actual truck, but I've managed to get him to have a 2" lift installed all around on his silver one). Anyways, the black wheels that came on his truck are pretty unique, I can't remember TRD or Toyota making a black rim for their trucks as standard equipment (At least, package wise). I know black rims are poo-poo'ed every now and again, but I really think these would tie together with my 4R's ARB (which is down at IPOR ready to get work done FINALLY). His truck is on 265/75 BFG's but the rims I believe are 16x8. Anyways, let me know what you think, yay or nay. Cause they'd essentially be free, just the cost of removing and replacing the tires on the rims.

Woah, more positive response than I expected for these rims -- I'm meeting up with my dad today to talk about the process, since he sometimes needs access to that truck and I can't just leave him wheel-less for a day or two, so I need to plan it accordingly. It'll be interesting to see what '02 Limited rims look like on an '08 Tacoma haha.

You should definitely go for those. You might want to put one of your tires/rims on his Tacoma before the swap just to make sure it will clear the brakes. Just to be safe.

Well, my dad is replacing the old BFG's within the next month or two with some new tires, and I convinced him to hand over these wheels, so they'll be on eventually! My guess is in 2 months (sorry guys not for Rausch it looks like, hell, I don't even have my 4R now, it's getting operated on lol) Luckily I spotted dry rot on the tires which helped him pull the trigger on new tires sooner rather than later. It's an '08 with only 22k, and since it sits around so much the tires started to crack within the treads.
