Off road air filter.

The other day i was informed by my mechanic that i was lucky that i did not water lock my engine, the reason was that i had hit a couple mud holes too fast and the spray had reached the filter. so my question is are there any air filters designed for off roading that will keep water out of your intake?

there is a water resistant wrap for open filters. I can't remember who makes it but i have one on my 4 wheeler for just this purpose

K&N makes them and so does Volant I believe
