Hey all,

This was a great trip! Vehicles include: 2004 G500 (32" Firestone M/T, rocksliders), 2003 Jeep Rubicon (32" BFG M/T, 2" lift), 2006 Xterra (6" lift, 35" ProComp M/T, bumpers, & others), and 2000 Land Rover Discovery (31" MT/R, CDL mod).

Conditions were less than perfect. It was raining that morning and the night before. We were lucky that it stopped a few hours before we came there. Therefore, the dirt was muddy and the rocks were especially slick. At one point the Xterra could not even make it up the first 1/2 of the hill (despite M/Ts) because the mud was just too slippery.

More...Jeep crossing a deep ditch...this ditch was a rear bumper basher!

More...Xterra making it look easy...but the ditch did try to take out the rear bumper (unsuccessfully)!

More...here is me going down mud slope...but the steep angle really tested my sliders! I was able to turn left to avoid bashing my rear bumper (again).

Good news for me was that the Firestones M/T held it's own against BFG M/T and ProComp M/T. It cleaned equally well and withstood rocks clawing at it. All of our tire's sidewalls were bluish after the abuse! I was hesitant at first for choosing the Firestones over the well-established players, but they held up very well.

Thanks...trust me, i have done my share of damage that my local bodyshop knows me by name!

yeah the gwagen acquitted itself very well last Sat. On the toughest hillclimb, it definitely had an easier time than my rubicon. My boneheaded driving in that climb nearly (at least felt like) flipped the jeep.

All in all it was a blast. The rain surely made things much more challenging and fun. The big hill climbs were all badly eroded and conditions made them very tough.

Some excellent driving were witnessed. Eddie in his xterra (no locker, on 35's) alternately finessed/brute forced his rig thru the same obstacles that the fully locked vehicles went thru. Nice job!

Yes, impressive. Do you know (or Thai) what the setup of the Xterra was? Traction control with center lock like the 4runner?

The Xterra has a part-time 4wd system (no center diff). Therefore, once it is in 4HI, there is equal power to front & rear. He took off both of his antiroll bars. Eddie (Xterra) still felt safe on the road. As you can see from the videos, the Xterra's TRAC did a very good job in getting him up the hill...and this is with the system controlling big ass 35" tires and rims! You can literally see small amount of brake smoke coming out of the wheels when TRAC is working! From previous experiences with this same Xterra (stock) and now (modified up the ying yang), we all are very impress with Xterra's TRAC system. Eddie definitely knows how to use the system to it's max capability.

I believe that the Xterra will be getting a supercharger soon...within next few days! Eddie's other items for the near future include: ARB rear locker with compressor, stronger skidplates, and Dana 44 front diff. His rig will be unstoppable after all this!
