Off roading at Hard Rock 11/11/07

I figured you'd start a thread somewhere else... No problem, I'll post my pics here too. 
Great weather, great wheeling, and great people equals a great time in my book.
I'm glad I decided to go out there and run with you guys, we
really had fun.
We got some great pics until the camera batteries died. I'll upload what I can now and the rest later including the high res versions. My server is acting up right now so I don't think I can get much up until after about 7PM.

This is the exact setup I have except that I run a 120psi pressure switch instead of a 180 or 200 to get the sound the way I like it. Siege has a great reputation on the Ford Superduty forums.

Power and electronic assists really made it fly up and down the hills. It was amazing to see someone with a truck that nice that wasn't afraid to take it out and give it hell. My hat's off to Greg for giving me the opportunity to watch.

Yeah the GX's biggest problem I think was the tires. I've got 265/65-18 Duelers that came on the wheels when I bought them and while they're nice on the highway they're like chocolate donuts in the mud. BFG came out with some AT KO's in that same size so I think I'll either get some of those soon or my other option is to get something even more aggressive for my stock 17 inch wheels and just swap wheels whenever I'm ready to hit the trail again.
I also screwed up in the mud by taking a line to far to the right over by where the dirt bikes were and also by being in low range when I hit the mud. I didn't build up as much speed as I wanted to and my momentum got killed pretty fast. The only other person who had any trouble in the mud was 4Runner4trail, but he was finally able to get out on his own power after he rocked it back and forth several times. ovrrdrive went through it like it was nothing and I don't think RunnerUp had any trouble either.
The other big problem with the GX is the running boards. I was planning to take them off but I overslept and didn't have time so I tried to take it easy - some of those hills I came very close to hitting them I think. Next time I'll take them off the night before.
On the plus side going up hills was a breeze, the V8 has so much torque that in low range it felt like I was driving a billy goat. And going down hills was made easy with the downhill assist button. Pretty cool hearing the computer pulse the brakes, of course the 4th gen 4Runners have this too. Kind of takes the fun out of it though
Unfortunately the ones I posted I shrunk to fit the screen and when I shrunk them I just saved over the top of the old file on my camera. But I have several more still in giant size, just PM me with your email address and I'll send them to you.ovrrdrive said:

I think the best bet for big pictures is my rarely used gmail account. They accept up to 20mb in attachments. I'll take whatever you have Greg. Thanks.
