Off roading in Iowa this past weekend

I took a somewhat newbie to off roading to the MIOBI grounds south of Knoxville, IA. They have many acres(200-300 acres estimated) of trails ranging from mild to wild. This was my second trip there with my 3rd gen 4Runner. I have been going there for years with my well built 85' 4Runner. The Tacoma that went with me has 33's and open rear.(due to his e-locker not working) He did great following me around. I came out with only minor scrapes from tree branches and from one rock that decided to bite my front fender flare.

Obstacle called slab rock. I had to back down off this. Without sliders I was risking getting into my rockers.

No. I live in Des Moines.

Yeah looks pretty sweet. I don't think there are really any public areas like this in the Dubuque area unless you know someone who owns a lot of private property. I remember going offroading near the Mines of Spain way back when I was in high school more than 10 years ago, but I'm pretty sure that wasn't legal...

I know of someone up in that area that has some land with trails and lets guys go wheeling on his property. The trails are extreme from the pictures I have seen.
