Yes, the hood scoops on the TDI Hilux Surfs allow air to cool the intercooler.

As much as I like the hood scoop on mine, it would have been nice if it actually had functional credibility.

However, for the Japan turbo diesels, do the hood scoops (assuming they got them too) actually let the intercooler receive cool air like Subaru's hood scoop design?

Surf Runner, you have a gorgeous 4Runner. I love that color.

Just gave mine a polish and wax, so I figured I'd throw a couple pics in here. It has the hoodscoop inlay painted silver as well.. Very close to adding an OME lift... just cant decide which one.

What color is that? Is it magnetic gray or something? I like it :thumb: I like super-g red truck as well. I wish I had a hood scoop for my white 4Runner. My friends girlfriend has a white 4Runner like mine and hers has the the hood scoop. I asked my friend to tell her to switch my hood for hers but, he says she doesn't want to.

I've recently added a VIS carbon fiber hood to my money pit '01.

And of course in the process of adding my hood struts, the drill bit caught and tapped the inside and cracked the clear coat. :dammit:

So... that sucks. A lot. But at least it's not a show queen and I 'woo sahh''d my way through it.

I've also got a sport hood that I wrapped in CF vinyl - looks pretty decent and I need to flip it on kijiji.

I've been slowly 'finishing' the vehicle and the hood was basically the last step. So... as soon as I can, I'll get outside and take some pictures. Apparently Canadian winter decided to show up so it's a bit chilly out.
