Not nearly as extreme as most off-road pictures here, but last weekend I took my kids down to the beach in our brand new LE (still has dealer paper plates). I wanted to get it in the dirt quickly so that the new car "babying" was over asap.

It's an ARB Simpson III that I got off expo. It's great but my MPGs took a pretty gnarly hit. I'm down around 12.5.
Just built a set of "quick" releases for it. It will be 4 easy bolts instead of 8 impossible to reach bolts so I can take it off between trips.
I got the Gobi with awning off [MENTION=77684]WarnerD9[/MENTION] earlier this summer.

Hey I would like to thank you by the way. While I was shopping for bumpers I came across your Shrockworks without headlight hoops and was sold immediately. I actually have a couple pictures of your truck saved on my phone haha.

Kenny's climb was a lot of fun. It's amazing the traction you can get on the sandstone. We're here till Sunday morning. Planning on doing Metal Masher tomorrow. and Hell's Revenge sometime before we go.

What time? You can do Metal Masher and Hell's Revenge before lunch, depending on playing with obstacles.

Afraid I'm probably going to end up getting stuck with work tomorrow.

We plan on starting in the morning, but we are part of a large group and its tough to get moving quickly. We were also thinking about taking the Shafer switchbacks into Canyonlands before we go do Metal Masher, which will add some time. Sorry you have to work tomorrow. Most of our group will be mountain biking Porcupine Rim tomorrow, but me and one other guy with a Rubicon are not, and will hopefully hit a trail. I don't think I have the stones or modifications to my vehicle to do Moab Rim or Cliffhanger.

It'll take a couple hours to go down potash to the switchbacks and up them, but it is totally worth it for the scenery. I'd recommend going down Mineral Canyon bottom or Spring Canyon, once you are up on the Plateau. You're 95% of the way there, and missing a lot of the best scenery in the area. It's a long bumpy road to both, but it is more than worth it, once you get there.

You'd be fine on the Rim or Cliffhanger, just have to choose the right lines, and be willing to drag the trailer hitch, no more than Fins'n'things or Hell's Revenge, really.

Thanks for the tips on the other ways to go. We will have to consider them. Also good to know about Moab Rim and Cliffhanger. I dragged the hitch a lot today on Fins. Glad it's there to take the hits instead of the plastic bumper.

Ran Metal Masher and the first part of Hell's Revenge today before it got dark. Both were great. The skid plates and sliders took a major beating on Metal Masher. Hope to go run all of Hell's Revenge tomorrow before I have to leave on Sunday.:sobbing:

If you stay off the optional obstacles, Hell's Revenge is mellow compared to Metal Masher. Pretty similar to Fins'n'things.

Yeah. What I saw of Hell's Revenge today is much more mellow than metal masher. Never even touched the skids or sliders. I can't wait to do the whole trail tomorrow.

I've used crawl just for fun or to experiment with it but never on a real trail. Never used multi terrain at all. ATRAC, on the other hand, is great. Whenever I put it in 4 lo I put it in ATRAC too. The rear locker is also great, obviously.

Same here across the board. I was just wondering if you'd tried CRAWL over those big rocks to slow it wayyyyy down.

Nice. Hell's Revenge was crowded, but it was all those RZR buggies. I parked at Hell's Gate for awhile hoping to see some vehicles besides the RZRs run it, but it did not happen. The trail was still fun, though.
