Yup Shoe Creek is a walk in the park compared to Potts. I did shoe creek before I got the lift and tires and it was super easy. Really just a bumpy road following a pretty creek up into the mountains, but still fun and worthwhile and good scenery.

I did Potts a long time ago (like 20yrs ago) and it was not too bad, but I have heard it has gotten a lot more gnarly, but I find it hard to believe it's any more challenging than some of the stuff we did in Moab this spring. We shall see I guess...

OK so the water crossing was paved with cement but the road before and after was dirt! This is just before the hot springs off Agua Caliente Trail in the Los Padres Nat'l Forest. The road is passable easily in a high clearance truck / SUV as my buddy's 2WD Tacoma made it no problems, so nothing major, but still a fun, scenic dirt road into the mountains / forest behind my house.

We do have a serious abundance of trails in this state; a welcome change from Georgia, where I had to drive a few hours just to do some easy fire roads. Unfortunately, most of our trails are closed for 6-8 months out of the year.

Here are a few pics. I'm planning on putting more on my build page. My rig is 100% stock suspension and tires. Made it over quite a few of the passes in the Ouray area. I lost a tire to a rock on the side wall on the east side of Imogene Pass. I have my full list of runs on my build page. I'm working on a timelapse of Medano Pass cause no one on here seems to have run it.

I got a flat at the top of Poughkeepsie (it was a very long screw, that was likely in my tire for a while). I plugged it, and ran two more days of trails without issue, drove home, and drove around town for a week - no problems! Then I took a business trip out to Vegas, and as I got 20 miles away the plug went, and I had to change my tire on the side of a very busy highway. Funny how that stuff works.

A bunch of us ran Medano last year down through Great Sand Dunes National Park, and then up through Ouray. It was a great trip!

LOL - that is just the latest. It has been put back into shape 6 times now by local metal fab shops, along with new brackets made for the rear skid, and several pieces of angle iron welded in for gusseting. I am about to dump them and order some BudBuilts.
I am a big ARB fan, but they really dropped the ball on this product.

Should have seen it after I slid down the back of Baby Lion's Back on a sheet of ice before a lift and bigger tires. It was like heat shrink around the radiator mount.
