I used to have an '82 SR5 that looked just like that white one. Nice to see them still around. That thing was indestructible. I sold mine for $3000 back in 1997 with well over 210,000 miles.

This guys truck is a beast. It has a 383 Chevy motor in it. He's still working out some of the kinks but the thing is tough as hell. On that run his aux positive terminal on his battery cracked and fell off so his electrical went all to hell.

Whoa, I puckered up just looking at that first picture, maybe it's an illusion but looks scary and fun!

It was intense, but i think it would be worse going the other way with the drivers side looking down the drop side. Here is the video leading up to stacking rocks and making it across. That rear passenger tire kept slipping further down.

Watched that video, wife turned and looked at screen and said "Um, you are NOT going on that trail."

The brief shot of the canyon had already confirmed that for me, yikes. I'm a chicken and have no problem admitting it.

It was definitely the only obstacle that I had my 3 year old son sit out on. Didnt want him in the 4runner for that one. He was great for the other stuff. Loved every minute of it! Gotta train em young...

Inspired by TRD PRO I went out into Anza-Berrego with my cousin and checked out Fish Creek and Sandstone Canyon. Could not have enjoyed it more. It really is absolutely beautiful out there. We almost talked ourselves into going down Diablo drop-off (cousin has a stock fourth gen) but a couple of built Jeeps came out and talked us out of it. We also saw a group with a first gen, a really nice third gen and two FJ's. The road back to plaster city was really cool. The white sand was fun and it was much better than going up through Julian again.

Did you get past the rock crawling section in Sandstone Canyon? I didn't do that with my stock truck but a guy did it in a Jeep Cherokee without even having to disconnect his sway bars. It was impressive.

Did you get past the rock crawling section in Sandstone Canyon? I didn't do that with my stock truck but a guy did it in a Jeep Cherokee without even having to disconnect his sway bars. It was impressive.

Them Cherokees are no joke. Aside from the mopar quality control issues, those things are the real deal. I would have that if they weren't so hit and miss on the reliability side.

No, we called it good. I think I could have gotten over it but my cousin didn't want to with his truck. Plus, we had the whole family and my boss doesn't like the big stuff. There were tire tracks on some pretty crazy stuff going through that. That is an impressive rock slide for sure.

well... same goes for any a/t and above type tire. Ive had BF a/t and Mud, duratracs, nitto grappers in ice and they all turn into bobsleds
