Moab Rim is my favorite run in Moab.

One of my favorites as well, but this is probably the last time I'll run it this year until October. Already getting crowded and it's only February. How do you like Behind the Rocks?

How do you like Behind the Rocks

Another of my favorites; although it's tough to find anybody willing to do it with me. I've taken people on it who will go up anything but absolutely hated the descents on BTR. They still give me grief about getting them out on that trail. My favorite Moab Rim experience was when I was taking a pretty large group of FJ's on it a few years back. I'd had a front locker installed in my FJ shortly before that particular trip to Moab. When we exited the parking lot to start the trail I put the vehicle into 4-Low and it refused to go into 4-Wheel drive (sensor malfunction). So, without ATRAC or the rear locker, I engaged the front locker and managed to get all the way up to the top with power to one wheel in front and an open diff in back. At that point the system finally engaged. After that experience I had my tech install a bypass switch that would allow the 4-wheel drive system to engage even if there was a sensor malfunction.

I also like Cliff Hanger and feel its gotten more difficult than Moab Rim over the last few years.

Auto focus didn't know the trucks were the object of the picture.

This place has so much rock to play on that I'm reconsidering having a sas truck.

Great wheeling pics as always Jeremy. I know the 8th pic is from Behind the Rocks. Have a pic of my Tacoma in that exact spot. Isn't that the bypass around High Dive?

I am planning a trip to Moab in mid-May. I will be taking the 4Runner this time. I will hit you up to see if you can meet up.

Big Bend National Park on Old Ore Road and River Road. Wanted to try Black Gap Trail as well but time didn't permit. The 50 mile drive round trip down River Road took 4 hours. Awesome scenery, and plan to go back and hit the remaining 20 mile stretch of River Road to the East. My pics don't do the place justice!

[MENTION=111345]Texas777[/MENTION], Big Bend is awesome; so incredibly remote. It's good to see that there is some water in the Rio Grande right now.

They have had quite a bit of rain out there over the past few weeks. Locals were saying that plants that have been dormant for over 20 years are actually blooming right now. Amazing what a little rain will do in the desert! It's was the first trip there for my wife and kids, and they are now hooked too, so mission accomplished! :biggrin2:

Yep, high dive/up chuck bypass - haven't worked up the nerve to try those yet. I'm pretty much always around, but might be in the San Juans trying to beat the summer crowds, depending on snow melt.

Upchuck isn't really all that bad (looks way worse than it actually is). High Dive has gotten REALLY sketchy over the last 4-5 years. There are certain times of certain years when a lot of soil washes down over the winter/spring and fills in the spots that have been dug out so badly and is much more doable. A REALLY good spotter (since you can't see where you're going) and the right line are absolutely necessary; otherwise there's a high likelihood of rolling your vehicle. Hitting the trail before Easter Jeep Safari and Cruise Moab happen can increase the odds of catching the trail before all the erosion occurs each year (assuming the soil has filled in some from the previous year as I mentioned earlier).
