Some from Rose Garden Hill today. Erosion over the last month or two has made this one a lot harder than it used to be, even the nearly graded part at the top near the Entrada ranch has been washed down to slick rock. Cotton Wood canyon has gone from, IMHO a 3-4 to a 6-8.

No kidding, I hope that is the camera angle making that look worse. If not, I want no part of that!

Turn your head until the tree is vertical.... Still sketchy, but not nearly as bad as the crooked pic makes it seem.

I didn't notice before, but yes the camera was crooked, looks like about 10 degrees from reality.

Looked fine to me but my life is around 10 degrees from reality.

I had a clinometer on my 4runner when trying out a place called the Gap, and it only reads to 35 degrees. I went into a washed out bank that had me max it out and go past to about 42°. The 4runner was still stable, though starting to lose traction. My passenger could reach half her arm out the window and touch the bank, so there was nowhere for us to roll if things went sour, but they didn't. I like the COG of these trucks a lot!

I liked it better thinking it was that off camber. Jk, cool pic and 10% off makes it that much better! I could tell from the tree angles though. There are plenty of spots that are really that tippy out there! Always a bit jelly you get to run that all the time...

A few from today on P Gulch. When I got to the bottom of the wall, these cats were picking an extremely dangerous line down that would have flopped their mostly stock Rubicon. I showed them the easy line that they should take and one of the ladies said "You're not actually going to drive UP that!?" :lol:

A few from today on P Gulch.

Couple things man,
1-I'm sure I missed it somewhere, but what blinkers are you running in your SW bumper, and did you modify it or order it that way?
2-We are passing by the house on our way to Denver around the 15th or so. I want to run poughkeepsie since it is the only pass I've never driven in a vehicle. (ridden on moto countless times) I know you have a front locker, is that vital you think? No locker up front for me, though I am putting on a winch when I get home. Just a little concerned is all, I haven't seen it in years, but I know it's a handful on 2 wheels. Input?

Another question:

I've done "P Gulch" ( a lot easier to spell) many times, both uphill and down hill, but have always had to winch up. What is this "easy line" you speak of? I've only seen one vehicle make it up without winching; an old, beat up TJ Rubicon that only had a minimal lift in it, driven by a crusty old guy with many miles on him. He took a far right line that I've never tried, but when I did it down hill last month that line looked more difficult than my usual line more in the middle. Maybe this is the definition of insanity since I keep trying the same thing and expect different results....
